MASW (Multichanel Analysis of Surface Waves)

In the context of Colombia and in accordance with the NSR-10 Standard (Earthquake Resistant Standard), the MASW (Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves) method deploys specific applications to meet the requirements of geotechnical evaluation and structural design. This method is used to determine the elastic properties of the soil up to considerable depths, essential for calculating seismic coefficients and designing structures that meet the earthquake resistance standards established by the regulations.

MASW provides detailed wave velocity profiles, allowing for the accurate identification of geological strata and the assessment of the dynamic response of soil to seismic loads. These data are essential for the proper selection of foundation techniques and the design of structural systems capable of mitigating the adverse effects of earthquakes on buildings, bridges and other critical infrastructure. In addition, MASW facilitates seismic hazard assessment and sustainable urban planning, contributing to structural safety and risk reduction in seismically active areas of Colombia, in accordance with the guidelines established by NSR-10.

At Geolanel SAS we have the experience to offer you seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation for your project.
