According to the National Mining Agency, to explore and exploit mines in Colombia, it is necessary to be the holder of a mining concession contract duly granted and registered in the National Mining Registry (article 14 of Law 685 of 2001 – Mining Code). To do so, the interested party must submit a concession contract proposal to the Mining Authority in order for its viability to be assessed in accordance with Colombian regulations.
